Tips To Being Healthy At A Desk Job

I love being a Personal Trainer. It’s a career path I’ve wanted since I was 12. Unfortunately, it isn’t all sunshine and roses and I’ve had to make ends meet by taking other jobs. I had hoped never to hold a desk job, but I do hold one now. Desk jobs can be a bit of a pit fall when it comes to staying healthy, but I do think it is possible to stay on the up and up and survive being stuck at a desk all day.

Try It: Kendall Jenner’s 11 Minute At-Home Workout

It’s hard to flip through a women’s lifestyle magazine or scroll any women’s lifestyle website and not see some sort of celebrity inspired workout. Ranging from workouts claiming to “give you a butt like Beyoncé” to “Ellie Goulding’s workout from when she’s on tour” and “Secrets from Blake Lively’s Trainer”, there are tons of workouts out there with some sort of celebrity stamp. Personally, I’ve never really done any of these celebrity workouts. Continue reading “Try It: Kendall Jenner’s 11 Minute At-Home Workout”

Try It: Bolt-Strong and Bolt-Con

Back to the gym for me! For my Try It: Fitness series I am always on the lookout for different styles of workouts. I love finding something unique and new, not just another bootcamp. Try It: EMS Workout

You may have seen the ads on Facebook or segments on the news: a 20 minute workout that is equivalent to 4 hours in the gym, all while being low impact. Is this too good to be true? Maybe, or maybe not. Enter EMS Revolution , a gym using an Electro Muscle Stimulation (EMS) powered training system to promise such a workout. Not only that does the promise of a short but intense workout intrigue me, but when their website also claims that “you can work up to 350 individual muscles at the same time in just one session.” I knew I had to check it out for myself. So I was super excited when Andy (owner of EMS Revolution here in Perth) offered me the opportunity to do just that! So on a beautiful Thursday morning, I drove up to EMS Revolutions studio in Malaga and threw myself into the unknown of EMS workouts.  Continue reading “Try It: EMS Workout”

My Top 5 Online Daily Fitness Inspirations

I have been in and around the fitness industry for the past 7 (ish) years of my life. While this seems like a long time, some days I still feel very much like a newbie. But in this instance, feeling like a newbie is a good thing! It really pushes me to keep going out and learn more about my chosen field of employment. To be the best trainer I can be, I work hard to experience new styles of workouts (Hence my Try It: Fitness series) and learn more from other trainer so I can relate more to my clients and their life experiences. It also serves as my inspiration for new workout and exercises, allowing me not to get stuck in a rut. Continue reading “My Top 5 Online Daily Fitness Inspirations”

How To Build An At Home Gym On A Budget

If you gave me unlimited money, I am pretty sure I would have a membership to almost every gym and studio within 20km of my house. I love having access to a plethora of equipment and workout styles, as it allows me to find a workout that suites my daily mood and schedule. Unfortunately, I have yet to win the lottery, so my small budget does limit where I can workout. Though my job as a Personal Trainer does give me access to a substantial amount of equipment, I still end up working out quite a bit at home due to my schedule. Which leads me to today’s topic: how to build an at home gym on a budget! Continue reading “How To Build An At Home Gym On A Budget”
